Matty Frank – Myrtle-Wyckoff Blues

Matty Frank brings a refreshing sense of personality to his single “Myrtle-Wyckoff Blues,” a lively blend of blues, folk rock, and Americana that feels wonderfully spontaneous. Recorded live at Nightsound Studios in Carrboro, North Carolina, the song captures the warmth of musicians enjoying every moment together.

The guitars carry a playful energy, while the steady bass and drums give the track an irresistible groove. Frank’s expressive vocals are particularly engaging, moving naturally between humor, frustration, and heartfelt emotion. His songwriting explores loneliness, complicated relationships, and the strange realities of modern city life without losing its wit or charm.

What I particularly enjoy about this release is how comfortably Frank balances emotional honesty with a genuinely fun musical arrangement. Nothing feels forced, and the live recording gives each instrument room to breathe.

Released as the lead single from Dooda: Bee Sides, “Myrtle-Wyckoff Blues” shows another exciting side of Frank’s creativity. It’s the kind of song that makes you appreciate the beauty of an honest performance, and one I would gladly return to for another listen.
