Brooklyn trio Gooseberry deliver something special with “Fault Lines,” a gripping alternative rock single that combines the grit of ’90s grunge with the band’s own musical personality. From the thick guitar riffs to the driving drums and commanding vocals, everything feels purposeful, giving the song an energy that’s hard to ignore.
Frontman Asa Daniels brings genuine emotion to a story about homesickness, loneliness, and the strange feeling of watching life continue somewhere you no longer belong. His vocal delivery captures that frustration beautifully, while Will Hammond’s bass and Evin Rossington’s drumming give the music its weight. The Soundgarden influence is clear, but Gooseberry have enough character to make the song their own.
What I particularly love about “Fault Lines” is how naturally the music reflects its subject. The tension in the guitars and the force of the chorus make those feelings of distance and isolation remarkably convincing.
It’s an excellent example of modern guitar music with real substance, and another strong reason to keep Gooseberry on your radar. This band deserves attention.
