Los Angeles music project moodtwn has a knack for making big questions sound fun, and “Never Know” is a fine example. Led by Joseph Lewczak, the new single pairs the easy confidence of classic radio rock with the bright, direct appeal of modern indie pop.
A repeating electric guitar figure draws you in before the drums give the song a lift. The chorus is simple, but that is exactly why it works: it sticks around long after the track ends. Lewczak’s vocal grows more spirited as the arrangement builds, while the backing harmonies add warmth without crowding the melody.
What I like most is the writing. References to flying cars and space colonies might sound playful, yet they lead to something familiar: growing up and realizing life rarely follows the plan. Instead of dwelling on disappointment, moodtwn finds a reason to stay curious.
“Never Know” feels upbeat without ignoring reality, and nostalgic without sounding dated. It is the kind of song I would put on again, especially when the future feels uncertain and a little encouragement goes a long way.
