Seema Farswani – Sketches on the Walls (rReimagined)

Seema Farswani’s latest offering, “Sketches on the Walls (Reimagined)”,  is a masterful masterclass in artistic evolution. Moving away from the urban tension of the original, this version feels less like a song and more like a carefully curated room, echoing Seema’s dual life as a Singapore-based interior designer. By stripping back the driving energy of the Chicago-inspired predecessor, she creates an intimate sanctuary where Spanish guitar lines and the rhythmic pulse of the tabla can breathe.

As I pen these thoughts while the track’s Mediterranean warmth fills my headphones, I find myself genuinely struck by how she transforms “tangled thoughts” into a vision of serene clarity. The collaboration with Rish from Level Music Mumbai is inspired, adding tactile cajón taps and Hindi/Urdu bridges that feel entirely organic. It is rare for a reimagining to surpass its source, but Farswani has designed a sonic landscape where vulnerability and sophistication coexist. This is essential listening for those who value music with architectural depth.
