Zephyros Gowa brings a refreshing sense of personality to “XNew Yorkin’ My WayXX,” a track that feels rooted in the spirit of independent songwriting. Featured on his 2026 EP American River Act I, the song adds another interesting chapter to an artist whose catalog moves between country, folk, and singer-songwriter traditions.
What I appreciate most about Gowa’s approach is his willingness to follow his own creative direction. Even the song’s playful title suggests an artist who enjoys bending expectations rather than following familiar formulas. There’s something appealing about music that carries such a personal identity, especially when so many releases compete for attention by sounding alike.
The New York reference also gives the track an intriguing character, inviting listeners to consider themes of individuality, ambition, and finding one’s place. Gowa’s broader musical journey makes this release worth exploring, particularly for audiences drawn to independent artists with distinctive perspectives.
In my opinion, “XNew Yorkin’ My WayXX” deserves attention for its individuality and creative attitude. It’s another welcome addition to Gowa’s growing body of work, and a good reason to keep following his music.
