Clayton Bellamy – I Miss Tom Petty

Clayton Bellamy brings genuine warmth and a lifetime of musical experience to his new single, “I Miss Tom Petty,” a touching country-rock song that celebrates the memories we carry through music. Known for his work with The Road Hammers, Bellamy takes a quieter approach here, allowing his storytelling and unmistakable voice to lead the way.

The gentle acoustic arrangement, soulful harmonica, and relaxed rhythm create a welcoming atmosphere, while Bellamy’s slightly weathered vocals give every word a personal touch. Written alongside Dan Davidson and Tim Hicks, the song looks beyond admiration for Tom Petty, exploring how certain artists become part of our lives and remind us of moments we wish could last longer.

What I particularly love about this release is how naturally Bellamy expresses nostalgia without making the song feel overly sentimental. There’s sadness in looking back, but also real comfort in remembering.

As the first taste of his forthcoming album, Soft Kind of Loud, “I Miss Tom Petty” shows Bellamy at his most sincere, delivering a lovely tribute that deserves a place on any country-rock playlist.
