Gareth Inkster – Domino

Canadian singer-songwriter Gareth Inkster brings a thoughtful and personal touch to his single “Domino,” taken from his EP You Are Not Young Start Walking. Built around a piano groove and a steady rhythmic foundation, the track offers an engaging blend of indie rock and reflective songwriting that feels natural from beginning to end.

What makes “Domino” particularly interesting is the way Inkster explores life’s unpredictable nature through the idea of patterns and connections. His lyrics question how much control we really have over our lives, touching on acceptance, uncertainty, and our place in something bigger. Rather than offering easy answers, he leaves room for listeners to find their own meaning.

I particularly appreciate how Inkster turns such a complex subject into a song that feels personal and approachable. There’s a genuine sense of curiosity in his writing, and that gives the track its character. “Domino” is a fine example of an independent artist trusting his creative instincts, delivering music that encourages reflection while remaining enjoyable and easy to connect with on repeated listens.
