Joshua Hawkes – Eyes Like That

British singer-songwriter Joshua Hawkes delivers a refreshing change of pace with his latest single, “Eyes Like That,” a lively indie-pop track that captures the excitement of unexpected attraction. Produced alongside Nikhil Shepherd, the song combines bright, 80s-inspired guitars, punchy drums, and a catchy rhythm that makes an immediate impression.

What makes this release particularly enjoyable is how naturally Hawkes brings the story to life. His confident vocals carry a playful edge, while the lyrics explore that familiar moment when someone catches your attention and suddenly nothing else seems to matter. The production feels polished without losing the personality that makes his songwriting appealing.

I particularly like how the guitars and steady beat work together, giving the track an upbeat character that makes you want to hear it again. There is something genuinely fun about its simplicity and energy.

With “Eyes Like That,” Hawkes shows another side of his musical talent, moving comfortably between thoughtful songwriting and feel-good pop. It is a promising release that builds excitement for his upcoming debut EP and deserves a place on your playlist.
