pami – loser
There’s something refreshing about the way pami approaches heartbreak on “loser.” Rather than pretending she has everything figured out, the Thai singer-songwriter admits how difficult it can be to walk away from someone who gives you just enough attention to stay. It’s an uncomfortable truth, but she makes it sound wonderfully human.
Released on September 30, the single finds pami working with co-writer Jett Blyton and producer Maribelle. The result is a charming piece of indie pop, with an easygoing feel that contrasts nicely with its more complicated subject. Her conversational delivery gives the song personality, while the vocal harmonies add warmth without crowding the story.
What I like most about “loser” is its refusal to turn every romantic mistake into a life lesson. Sometimes people know exactly what’s happening and still make the same choice. pami understands that contradiction and writes about it without sounding bitter or overly dramatic.
Following “cry jar” and “all in,” this is another strong example of her gift for making personal feelings accessible. “loser” is thoughtful, catchy, and definitely well worth your time.
