Pisco Sour – Summer

Pisco Sour – Summer

Melbourne indie rock outfit Pisco Sour take a welcome change of pace on “Summer,” a single that finds warmth in memories that no longer belong to the present. Rather than chasing the rush of their louder material, the band gives the song room to breathe, letting its reflective mood do much of the talking.

There’s a familiar charm to the jangling guitar sound, but the real appeal lies in the contrast between the music’s sunny character and its bittersweet subject. “Summer” looks back on a relationship that mattered, even if it was never going to last. That perspective feels mature without becoming heavy handed, and it gives the track an emotional pull that stays with you.

I particularly like how Pisco Sour resist turning nostalgia into regret. There’s sadness here, certainly, but also gratitude for a chapter worth remembering. It’s a thoughtful direction for a band already known for its lively performances, and proof that quieter moments can carry just as much weight. “Summer” feels like the last warm evening before the seasons change: fleeting, comforting, and worth holding onto.
